A great deal with Harvey Norman!

LPS students in Years 3-5 have just completed the Harvey Norman Backyard League program. Wet weather shortened the program somewhat, but that didn't stop students learning some new skills and gaining an appreciation of the game. The idea of the program is for students to be given some initial tuition from the ARL Development Officers and then they have to work together, following a plan to develop their own set of unique rules.

At the end of the program LPS had developed its own set of League rules. Students are now keen to transfer this into lunchtime activity. Our appreciation goes to Harvey Norman, who have put 90 000 students through the program. Each participating student also received a Steeden football, valued at about $15. Our appreciation goes to Dean Whymark, National Development Officer with the ARL and his very able assistant Noah Fotu for providing LPS students with a fantastic opportunity.
